Daddy Pages Submissions and Rules

We will continue to have the Daddy/Momma pages again this year. I am going to leave last years up till I get back from Mardi Gras in a few weeks, so please hold off posting any finds you may make until I have the old pages down. Hopefully I can get started on next years by Feb 1st.

However, Since we seem to be getting more and more people involved in the fun, I need the ones interested in being on the pages to do a bit more work with the editing of photos this year so I dont have to do so much post processing on the pics..

Ideally the item should be a single image of the find, I try to put them up as close to 250x250 pixels as I can.. so a cropped picture of your single item at 250x250 would be ideal with as little border as possible so your item fills the entire space, but a larger pic is OK as long as you try and keep them as a square.. width and height the same, say 400x400 etc, but if you go that far you may as well resize to 250x250 so I dont have to do it. The more you can do for me the easier it is, and you only have to do your own where I have to do hundreds if not done propely.. If you don't know how to crop and resize a simple program called irfanview is available free, it will show you pixels at the as you drag the crop square across the image..

I will try and make another tutorial on the use of irfanview for editing images, its a free program and probably the best free editor out there, and best thing its a very small download..

Try and make your closeups as clear as possible, they are your pages and you want them to look good. If you have trouble with editing and taking good closeups just ask. we can help you through it..

its easy  when you get the hang of it and even the cheapest digital cameras are decent these days for close ups.. just make sure you shoot the pics in widest angle(dont use zoom) with your macro mode on and a good light source on the item.. dont take pictures too far away, large images still look good when resized down, but small images look terrible when resized larger.

Buckle and plate pics are not as big a deal as coins, rings and buttons are as there aren't as many and I can take care of them and they are generally not square anyway.. I will use 480 x ??? for them so keep the buckle pics no smaller than 480 pixels in width.

Also if you dont post a mug shot image of yourself you will not be added.. I need A picture of your face, and the state you live in.

I will have cutoff dates for getting on the pages this year.

Buckles can be added till end of year since most will only find one if any and it could come at any time.

Button Daddy will be cut off Nov 1st

Ring and coin daddy I will cutoff date at August 1st.

However if you think you want to be on the page even if you haven't found anything by the cutoff dates I will add you if you post an image of yourself with a 0 count.

When you find something you want put up please put Daddy in the subject line of your post or email the pics to me so I don't miss them.

Thanks for the participation, its a fun thing and a friendly way of showing off your finds and fun competition, I just need a bit more work from you all to lighten the load off of me a little
