My research tells me that if a lake is navigable (meaning is used by boats, etc), then any landowner whose land may
border upon that lake CAN claim his property off limits, but CANNOT claim the lakebed itself. The lakebed is
considered any part that is at sometime covered by water at some portion of the year. Therefore, most lakes are
considered public for the lake water and lakebed and the landowners cannot claim any portion even though their
land may border upon it!! Just something to think about!!
