Re: I always thought Whitworth bullets were sorta spiraled. Are they spiraled

Whitworth bullets were Hexagonal .441 caliber,
1.322'' long , they have six flat sides and the rifle had hexagonal polygonal rifling meant that the projectile did not have to bite into grooves as was done with conventional rifling.
In the pic the whitworth bullet is on the left and an Enfield bullet on right
