He has been awarded the Air force Bronze Star. He is in the Army an flew as an Army RN, but the flying part is where the Air force gets involved. He was here over the holidays, but went back to be pinned at his new rank. The DUSTOFF duty took it's tole on him with his knees and hearing from the loud rotors on the helicopters, even with protection on. H e never tells us what he has seen, but I know he has seen it all. The only thing he has actually told me is that an armor piercing round went through the bottom of the copter and hit his medic in the leg. He just talks like no big deal on everything. He has said it is very disturbing with children who have stepped on road side devices.
