Digital Camera Forum

This morning's response to the Wrangler!

Thanks Fred for your well wishes for the coming year! I’ve been musing this morning working hopefully on my last set of house plans. I’ve always wondered how I can be working on one thing and thinking about another that has absolutely nothing to do with what I’m working on. I’m sure of one thing though and that it probably explains why I make so many mistakes. I also wish you and your love of life a Happy New Year. In fact I’m going to post this on the Camera Forum hoping others will understand this it meant as well wishes for the Forum Family as well.

*****************
Well they say, but I don’t know who they are, that the best comes last. So I showed up last. That means today’s my birthday. One time my dad told me the best thing I gave him was a one year no cost tax deduction. So I’ve been reminiscing today over my on life and need to get this year over with before starting a new one. I don’t mean to sound pessimistic but my life is not going to get any better than it is right now. All of us are getting older or we are dead.

This is a realistic attitude not a sad or bad one. I truly believe a good life must be lived and not merely a remembrance of the so called good old days. That means dealing with whatever opportunities, trials or tribulations that confronts us daily. Its not always easy but if you don’t then you might as well be dead. To enjoy life one must participate in things, not just watch life as it passes by. Even the Depot camera forum as experienced issues. Even if you are confined to a bed or wheel chair you can interact with others instead of being a pain to yourself and one’s own worst enemy. Life is meant to be experienced.
For live to be really lived we must seek out love and take control of our own attitude. We came into this life with nothing and we’ll go out with nothing. The fact is the only thing we truly own and have control of in this life is our attitude. It alone controls how we see ourselves and mostly how people see us. Having said that, we must demonstrate love in and through our life to experience it. It may fall upon us undeservingly but its everyone’s duty to pursue it above all things. For without it life isn’t worth living.

So as we end this year and start a new one I implore everyone to experience the glory of love in the present and new year. Find some way to experience and show love. It can be a simple phone call or a squeeze of the hand. There is an old song originally written in 1936 by Billy Hill and first recorded by Benny Goodman that expresses this concept. I fell in love with a young lady by the name of Peggy Lee upon hearing her sing it in 1959. Without feeling trite I leave you with the simple words of Billy Hills immortal song as a model for the year to come.

THE GLORY OF LOVE
You've got to give a little, take a little
And let your poor heart break a little
That's the story of,
That's the glory of love
You've got to laugh a little, cry a little
Until the clouds roll by a little
That's the story of,
That's the glory of love
As long as there's the two of us
We've got the world and all its charms
And when the world is through with us
We've got each other's arms
You've got to win a little, lose a little
Yes, and always have the blues a little
That's the story of,
That's the glory of love
That's the story of,
That's the glory of love.
